shiny, chrome, awaited
There was [talk on twitter](https://twitter.com/RennBrown/status/601887521891450880) earlier this summer that [George Miller was into](http://www.slashfilm.com/fury-road-trivia/3/) how Mad Max: Fury Road [looks in black & white](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5s62tpM5fo) and was going to try for a monochrome version on the Blu-Ray release. Well, [it sounds like that's not going to happen](http://2paragraphs.com/2015/08/mad-max-fury-road-no-shiny-monochrome-version-included-on-blu-ray/), but [the video](https://itunes.apple.com/us/movie/mad-max-fury-road/id990549112) was released earlier this week and with a very small amount of work, you can watch it *shiny and chrome* on a Mac: Open the System Preferences > Accessibility to turn the screen greyscale and boost the contrast a little bit. (image: screen-shot-2015-08-12-at-7.16.19-pm.png) I've watched it twice this way so far, and it's excellent. *nb: I watched [this (spoilery) B&W trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5s62tpM5fo) maybe forty times this summer. It's been that kind of summer. -- _Update: 2016-10-26 — the "Black & Chrome" version will be released as part of an $80 Mad Max box set, and is now available on Amazon, and as an iTunes Extra._
